Applications

Opto-electronic interconnects are free from the physical limitations inherent in electrical interconnects that are typical with high data rates. However, current optical solutions have limited use in the computing realm due to their significant high cost and large size.

XLoom addresses the needs of OEMs that are seeking optical interconnects as an alternative to copper for extended reach and ease of use in data centers. The Infiniband market is poised for growth as companies replace their high-end servers with low-cost clustered computers, to provide super-computing capabilities. XLoom's InfiniFlame products cater to this market and address the issue of low latency, high-speed interconnects for applications such as clustered computing for running large data-base applications as well as scientific applications.

Technology

XLoom's unique patented XFlame technology, which enables wafer level mass production of opto-electric components using standard semi-conductor processes, enables a 1:10 reduction of size and cost. XLoom's technology is scalable and generic.
