Hyperion was founded in 1988 by Lewis Ranieri, former vice chairman of Salomon Brothers. Hyperion's family of funds are a series of successful merchant banking funds which invest in both start-ups and mature companies. In aggregate, the Hyperion funds and their respective portfolio companies manage more than $2 billion in capital. Hyperion Israel is the third Hyperion fund and invests in Israeli and Israel related companies. Hyperion Israel's fund managers have operational, managerial and financial experience and are represented on the Boards of Directors of many influential public companies including Computer Associates and Check Point Software. Hyperion Israel seeks to leverage the fund's contacts in both the United States and Israel in order to assist its portfolio companies.
